Connecting My Different Chapters

From finance and women’s health to motherhood and AI, I’m reflecting on the question that connects the different chapters of my life.

Some of you know me from finance, audit or insurance.

Others know me through health, nutrition, motherhood, school conversations or the different things I have explored and built over the years.

At first glance, those may look like completely unrelated chapters.

Looking back, I can see a question running through them:

How do we make sense of complexity without losing the human being at the centre of it?

That question followed me through audit, insurance and the work of understanding how organisations function.

It followed me into women’s health, where one symptom or one piece of advice rarely tells the whole story.

And it follows me as a mother, where the fastest answer is not necessarily the answer that helps a child learn, grow or make a thoughtful decision.

Recently, ChatGPT has become part of that process too.

I use it to gather scattered thoughts, examine assumptions and follow an idea over time—while questioning what it gives me, too.

Sometimes, that helps me realise that the question itself needs to change.

I’m becoming increasingly interested in what happens when we use it to help us think more carefully, alongside the expertise, relationships and judgment we bring ourselves.

Has ChatGPT become part of your work or life in a way you didn’t expect?

I’d genuinely love to hear what you use it for.

P.S. Just as I was getting ready to publish, she decided to join me at the computer. Apparently, this needed her involvement too. 🐾
